Former Rep Newt Gingrich was US House Speaker for four-years in the late 1990s before resigning his seat in 1999, but has been a Republican mainstay since then as a political consultant, commentator and author.
His newest book is Beyond Biden; Rebuilding the America We Love, available on bookshelves today.
"The values and the attitudes of the big government socialists are so anti-American, and so would undermine and destroy the country that it's astonishing," says Gingrich. "I think we have to recognize that we have to intervene, we have to be prepared to stand up and fight, and that's what these elections and the elections of 22 and 24 are going to be all about."
Gingrich ran for President in 2012, does he expect former President Donald Trump to throw his hat back in the ring a dozen years later in 2024?
"It depends in part on his health," says Gingrich. "He's told me that he has no interest in becoming Joe Biden, he's old enough that he's going to check with his doctors, and if his health is such that he shouldn't run, he won't run. On the other hand, if the doctor says 'Hey, you're doing great,' I suspect he will run, and I suspect he'll be the Republican nominee."
