Omicron variant common, but moderate, contrary to White House warning

Over the weekend, COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients warned the unvaccinated population that a winter of “severe illness and death” is approaching. A claim coming from the White House of such extreme proportions definitely raises heads as the American people continue to find the truth about the number of cases and severity of the illness.

“Numbers of cases are on the rise,” says FOX Affiliate Ebon Brown. “What we don’t know is whether or not these numbers are Delta COVID or Omicron COVID.”

According to Brown, each variant will come with different symptoms at different strengths, making it difficult to know if rising positive cases also means a rise in hospitalizations.

“Omicron may be a very moderate illness or minimal illness type of infection for most people. It’s not going to be universal, of course, but it’s what we’re going to see the most of.”

Ebon Brown joins Marc Cox to clear up COVID-19 misinformation and to ease the minds of those frightened by the White House’s comment.
