Last Week, Elon Musk shared a stick figure political cartoon, drawn by Colin Wright, who is by trade an evolutionary biologist. Wright joins the Mark Reardon show to discuss the cartoon, and some of the reactions to it.
“The first time I shared it on Twitter, it got close to 3,000 retweets, so it was one of my more popular tweets. I recently shared it again, too, a couple weeks ago and it got another 1,500. It was popular when it came out, it just didn’t go completely nuclear like it did in the last week,” said Wright.
Later, he commented on the reactions to the cartoon, “the response has been so hilarious because you have the people who are elite journalists, who are super educated, who are trying to debunk a silly stick figure political cartoon by referencing the complex analysis, the survey data, progression analysis, just all this academic stuff. Even in my article I said, ‘responding to my political cartoon with an academic chart is like responding to a love poem with syllogism’.”
