Earlier this week the House approved a $40 billion Ukraine aid package. The measure passed with a 368-57 margin and added an additional $7 billion to President Joe Biden’s April request.
Senator Rand Paul joins Joe Arnold and Scott Jennings on The Mark Reardon Show with breaking news that he will be filing an amendment to oversee the relief spending.
“My sympathies are with Ukraine, I wish them luck, I want them to defeat the Russians, I want them to push the Russians out of their country. But we also have to be concerned with our country and with double-digit inflation here, this will make it worse,” says Paul.
The Kentucky Senator says he’ll be adding an amendment to the bill that appoints a special inspector general.
“We can’t just shovel piles of money out the door and have nobody oversee it,” says Paul.
