Regan Deering is a candidate for Illinois newly created 13th Congressional District.
“Today’s environment is begging for common sense leaders and regular community engaged people to step up to the front and advocate for their community,” says Deering.
The 13th Congressional District in Illinois includes all or parts of Champaign, Macon, Macoupin, Madison, Piatt, Sangamon, and St. Clair counties.
When asked about policy from the Illinois Board of Education that states staff keep confidential information about a student’s gender without the student’s explicit consent, Deering says, “not only is this on my radar, this is in my face.”
Illinois State Board of Education guidelines say staff cannot disclose information about a student’s gender to anyone without the student’s consent. So a 12 year old kid can decide he is trans and the school won’t tell the parents. This is insane pic.twitter.com/yG7SXLHtqS

“I don’t know why they’re coming for our kids and they keep getting away with it,” says Deering.
