Kyle Rittenhouse verdict under fire from the left and mainstream media
Over the weekend, Kyle Rittenhouse was found not guilty by the jury, polarizing the country yet again. The discussion of his guilt continues even after our Justice System’s decision, many of the more negative opinions coming from the left and their lack of willingness to look at what happened.
“Obviously, they don’t care what the facts were in the case,” says Hans Von Spakovsky, Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. “That can cause all kinds of problems in our society. Protests, further violence, because they just don’t want to pay attention to what actually happened.”
It’s not just woke leftists speaking out against the verdict; mainstream left media still continues to slander Rittenhouse even after being found innocent.
“Sadly this media will take it to such extremes that they will literally shape the narrative and have the public opinion against someone,” says Jessie Jane Duff, former Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant. “We have seen this before with many people that may not have even gotten a fair trial due to the adverse impacts of the strength of our media.”
“What they’re doing is really damaging for our whole justice system,” Spakovsky says. “They’re undermining the jury system.”
