"It's a total sweetheart plea deal," says Senator Josh Hawley.
As part of an agreement reached by Hunter Biden's attorneys and the Department of Justice, Hunter Biden will plead guilty to misdemeanor tax offenses and is expected to reach an agreement on the felony charge of illegally possessing a firearm as a drug user. The expected outcome is supervised probation.
"Can you believe that after all of this evidence about potential bribery, and money laundering, he gets a plea deal for tax evasion? Something that nobody else seems to have gotten, while they have 87-thousand IRS agents going after working people, honest people, it's incredible."
"I just don't know how you can look at what this Justice Department has done in the last year and a half where they go and treat parents as a domestic terrorist, you go to your own school board meeting you're a domestic terrorist, if you go to a pro-life demonstration you might have a SWAT team show up at your house, but if you're Hunter Biden and you commit crimes we'll make you a special plea deal, you won't do a day of time, and you'll get a slap on the wrist. It's a complete and total miscarriage of justice and everybody can see it. It's a hundred percent political and everybody can see it," Hawley continues.
