Senator Josh Hawley: ‘I’m not going to bow down to the mob’

Senator Josh Hawley has been a target of the left. On January 6, Hawley stood up for his constituents on the floor of the United States Senate as he raised concerns about election integrity. He explains that this is the one place in the entire electoral process that the Constitution allows a Senator to raise an objection.
Hawley says his goal was to shine a light on the need for election reform.

Now, some Democrats and mainstream media outlets are claiming that Hawley, Senator Ted Cruz, and other GOP members were trying to overturn an election by inciting violence.

“That’s simply a lie,” says Hawley.

Hawley says that mob violence, on either side, is always wrong, and people who engage in the violence have to be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.

“We need to have one standard… political debate needs to be peaceful.”

Hawley says he won’t “bow down to the mob” and intends to continue to do his job for the state of Missouri.

On a pending Senate impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump, Hawley explains the unconstitutionality of impeaching a private citizen.
