The investigation into the January 6th invasion of the Capitol Building has yielded little evidence that it was predetermined.
“Claims that were made by the media since then are just absurd and based on no evidence to support that claim, and now the FBI has confirmed it,” says attorney Hans von Spakovsky, Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. “It was very clear that what happened in the capital was spontaneous; a very small number of the many protesters who were there peacefully.”
Some participants in the attack are suffering consequences others don’t have to. A teacher in St. Louis was recently discovered to have been present on January 6th and is being charged and fired from her position, while other violent protestors outside the Capitol remain unpunished.
“It really shows the hypocrisy of the left with what’s going on,” Spakovsky says. “They are making the decision to let it go and not go after any of the ANTIFA and BLM protestors who were actually… attacking federal officers and throwing Molotov cocktails.”
