Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt believes that the Biden administration is failing at one of the key responsibilities of the Executive Branch, securing the southern border. Since taking office, the Biden administration has ended several Trump era policies that were designed to secure the southern border and provide safety for American Citizens. There are three actions that stand out to Schmitt. First, the cancelation of Operation Talon which deported previously convicted sex offenders who were in the U.S. illegally. Second, they reinstated Catch and Release which released asylum seekers into the interior of the U.S. Finally, the Biden administration is paying companies to not finish the border wall.
“The Secretary has undermined the rule of law,” says Schmitt.
The Attorney General also believes that the failure to secure the southern border is not just a legal issue, it is a moral issue as well. When asked about human trafficking, Schmitt explained in great detail how the Biden administrations border policies not only allow for human trafficking, but actually encourage it.
