Republicans eye retaking the House in 2022

Tom Emmer, NRCC chairman, and Minnesota Congressman joined The Annie Frey show to discuss what Republicans need to do to retake the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Historically the party that loses the presidential race gains, on average, 27 seats in the midterm election. However, Representative Emmer says that the Republican Party cannot take anything for granted.

“That’s history; we have to write our own history.”

Emmer believes his party will take back the majority. The reason he believes this is that the Democrat party has moved very far left. Unfortunately, that shift to the left means that any hope of bipartisanship faces an uphill battle. Another obstacle for finding a middle ground is this: Emmer believes Speaker Pelosi wants to receive all of the credit for anything that passes the house. Therefore she refuses to allow bipartisanship.

“Right now it’s a dumpster fire over there.”

Emmer says that Republicans should not interfere with Democrat infighting. Instead, Republicans should focus on reaching the younger generations with the Conservative message.  He says that Leader McCarthy is working on a detailed policy proposition. This plan includes monetary policy aimed at reining in inflation, refunding police departments, regaining control over the southern border, and reestablishing the United States in its role as a world leader. Listen to the full interview above.
