Two Chicago suburbs push back on vaccine mandate

Cook County has issued a vaccine mandate which is set to take effect on January 3rd. According to Jeff Monosso, the mandate would require all patrons five years of age and older to show proof of vaccination to enter the establishment. Monosso says the mandate applies to any indoor establishment where people can gather. However, Orland Park and Burr Ridge have decided not to enforce the mandate. Monosso believes this pushback may have some bipartisan support.

"This issue is not blue or red it’s green."

State Representative Mary Flowers has already spoken out against this mandate. Monosso says that Illinois has lost more small businesses than any other midwestern state except Michigan. He believes there is real concern that the mandate could be economically devastating to an already struggling Illinois. Listen to the podcast above to hear his full comments.
