LISTEN: Vicky Hartzler says Twitter suspended her 'simply for speaking the truth'

Kansas City area Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler lost access to her personal Twitter account this week, after the social media giant suspended it for a tweet it found offensive.

Hartzler tweeted "Women's Sports are for Women, not men pretending to be women" on her personal account, @VickyHartzlerMO.

"They suspended my Twitter account, simply for speaking the truth and speaking up for female athletes, it's ridiculous," says Hartzler.

Twitter suspended the account for violating its policy on hateful conduct.

Twitter instructed Hartzler that her account would be re-activated if she deleted the tweet, and waited through a brief period before her account was fully re-activated.

Hartzler's tweet referenced a new ad in her Senate campaign.

"I am not taking the ad down," Hartzler told Cox.
