Senator Blunt: 'I think a commission gets in the way of the things we need to do'

Senator Roy Blunt didn't say it's too early to have a January 6th Commission, he said we don't need to have one at all. He said they are ready to put out a bipartisan report about the steps the Capitol needs to take to make it more secure.
The National Guard was finally able to go home, the fence needs to come down, and a balance needs to happen that makes the Capitol a secure environment but one that can still function as a place people visit.
Many people might look at this commission as a witch-hunt against Donald Trump, however, there are still many questions that need to be answered when it comes to how these security threats were handled.
"I think a commission gets in the way of the things we really need to do," he said.
Blunt said there are a lot of things the Justice Department will know and will come to light as prosecutions roll out about January 6th. The focus should be on the things we definitely know that occurred that day.
