Sanjay Mathur, a Dallas-based immigration attorney joins the Mark Reardon Show to discuss the current state of the southern border with Brad Young.
“When you consider housing and backlogs and delays of the immigration court system, the insufficient number of immigration judges, the time it takes to train people in what is a very complex area of law, the time it takes to administer each case as an individual case, it is over burdening amount of work that can come in. And hence the reason for, I think, the motivation to delay,” explains Mathur.
Later he stated, “Most of these folks are coming without any visa. They're trying to attempt to enter the United States illegally versus legally, or they're presenting themselves at the US border and trying to seek asylum. And that's the biggest concern is the asylum claims.”
