The legal issues surrounding the resignation of former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens aren't over just yet. A judge issued a scathing ruling against the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office this week following a sunshine law request from reporter John Solomon.
Marc Cox summarized the findings of the former reporter with The Hill and Fox News, saying he "wanted to see all of the records of her interactions with a number of key people, who we know were involved in the transfer of the $100,000, the $120,000 to Al Watkins, it was dropped off in an envelope. We know Scott Faughn had something to do with that, right, the Missouri Times publisher and Missouri politico. Solomon filed a freedom of information request to look at the records. I want to see records between Kim Gardner, prosecutor of the City of St Louis, and these individuals."
Gardner didn't produce the records for the request, "despite even a court ordering her to release the information. She wouldn't release it," says Cox.
The Court said the failure to release the records was, "the result of Gardner's carelessness, inattention, and deliberate disregard," quoted Cox.
"She deliberately disregarded a court order to release these emails, why do you think that is?" asks Cox.
Gardner's office indicates it plans on appealing the decision.
