Hawley's endorsement of Hartzler is a 'very bold move'

Former Missouri State Senator John Lamping joined Marc Cox for his weekly visit on the heels of Sen Josh Hawley's endorsement of Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler in the race to replace Senator Roy Blunt in Missouri.

"The hints were out there," says Lamping of the possibility that Hawley would make an endorsement, "they co-sponsored the same legislation which is a very common phenomenon when groups come together. From the beginning, Vicky hired all the same political people that Josh used, so that was a sign."

"This is a very bold-move. Politicians are mostly risk-averse," says Lamping, "what happens when they do endorse, they take a chance."

Hartzler is "grateful" for Hawley's endorsement in the race:

What about the elephant in the room, former President Donald Trump who has not yet endorsed a candidate in the race?

"I do believe that Trump won't endorse against Josh," says Lamping.
