Acting Director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services joins the Mark Reardon show to discuss Missouri entering into Covid endemic stages after Governor Parson declared the pandemic as an endemic.
“Endemic doesn’t mean it’s the end. It simply means that the virus is at a level that’s constant or habitual in the population. So, we will see surges in the future, we just don’t know exactly when that will be,” Nickelson explains.
Later, she cautioned, “Will we at a point become overwhelmed again? It’s certainly possible, because if we know anything about this virus, it is an unpredictable and wryly foe.”
