Illinois State Representative Amy Elik sponsored legislation to eliminate the FOID card.
Illinois residence know what this card is but anyone outside of the state has no idea.
"You pay a fee to the state of Illinois and go through a lengthy application process to exercise your Second Amendment right," he said.
This there a chance to use this to work through the courts and challenge constitutional merits?
She said having to pay the fee is unconstitutional, and yes, this will challenge those merits. She explained that she has asked for solutions and explanations on what to do to make the process easier. When she didn't get an answer or a solution to the problem, she took action and created this bill.
