KMOX political analyst Jane Dueker said she is concerned that the public doesn't know that there are not enough police officers nor resources to fund officers to patrol the streets.
This has to be a massive domino effect in the city of St. Louis.
"Last year was a record year for homicides. This year we have 68 homicides. Same time last year it was 49. That's how big of a jump we already have," she said.
Dueker said if we don't get violent criminals off the street right now, all of our investments don't mean anything.
Right now, no one thinks they will be caught, let alone prosecuted, in the city of St. Louis if you commit a crime.
"There needs to be more cops on the streets. It's all hands on deck," she said.
