St Louis resident Krista Salvatore was a recent college graduate who was in New York City on September 11, 2001 participating in a 3-week training program at Morgan Stanley inside the World Trade Center. The attack occurred on just her second day in the city.
She was in the second tower hit, but what ultimately ended up being the first tower to fall.
After the first tower was hit by the hijacked-plane, she says the evacuation of her tower immediately started, and it was, "very organized."
"Everybody who was a full-time employee [at Morgan Stanley] knew exactly what to do and where to go," says Salvatore, "I left everything at my station and headed to the stairwell."
Salvatore recently participated in the installation of US flags on Art Hill in Forest Park.
