The situation between Ukraine remains complicated as the Russian military continues to invade the nation, says former US Senator Jim Talent.
Ukraine's President made an impassioned plea to the US Congress on Wednesday for more weapons, including aircraft that would be helpful in fighting off the Russian attacks and devastation he showed in a video portion of the address.
Talent tells Ryan Wrecker that currently, the US is expected to "supply the Ukrainians with whatever they ask for. And that would include fighter aircraft. I don't see why we're gonna draw the line there, as opposed to anti-tank missiles or other kinds of enabling fires we've been giving them. What the heck, I'd offer them F-16s, which are better than MIGs anyway."
"This is a problem with the Biden administration, they don't really develop a good policy and then stick to it. They go back and forth," says Talent, "so nobody really knows what we're going to be doing."
