Former Missouri Senator Jim Talent joined Marc Cox to discuss, the latest headline-grabbing revelations in Bob Woodward's new book, Peril.

Was there communication between Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley and China late in the Trump administration?

Those sorts of communication can be "useful" says Talent, "this is why I do think we need to hear what he has to say about this. Ok? This could be really bad, this could be questionable, or actually could, depending on the context, be OK from Milley's point of view."

"Now, if he was told to do this by either Esper or the Acting Secretary of Defense, then my gut reaction is, ok, the problem then may have been with Esper or the Secretary of Defense, not the chaiman," said Talent.
