Marc Cox and Kim St. Onge host KMOX sports director Tom Ackerman for a St. Louis sports update sponsored by McDonald's. Ackerman reviews individual performance metrics for the St. Louis Cardinals, highlighting first baseman Alec Burleson's 116 RBIs—marking the highest total by a Cardinal since Joe Torre led MLB with 137 RBIs in 1971.
The segment analyzes rookie development, contract extension details for top prospect J.J. Wetherholt, roster movements involving young talent across the organization, and pending Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) expiration timelines preceding potential offseason labor disputes. Ackerman also evaluates Southeastern Conference (SEC) college football standings following Mizzou's road matchup against Mississippi State, previewing upcoming conference games against Florida, Texas A&M, and Texas, alongside Big Ten updates for Illinois and Indiana.
