Should Blues fans start wearing beach gear to games? Tom Ackerman thinks so

KMOX's Tom Ackerman joined Marc for his weekly visit, and looked back on the St. Louis Blues' performance in the Winter Classic over the weekend. He was particularly excited about the Blues pregame entrance, while decked out in "beach gear" in the incredibly cold temperatures.

"I think that fans should start wearing 'beach-gear' to the Blues games," joked Ackerman, "it should be a thing! I really do!"

Fans can make it happen at the next home game on Friday night when the Washington Capitals come to town.

The faceoff temperature was minus-5.7 degrees on Saturday night, the coldest outdoor game in NHL history.

St. Louis beat the Minnesota Wild 6-4, with forward Jordan Kyrou becoming the first player in Winter Classic history to total four points in the annual outdoor game.

“It’s a nice little trick. I definitely was fully awake,” said Blues captain Ryan O’Reilly, who helped orchestrate the beach-wear dress code among players

Ackerman also commented on Antonio Brown's abrupt departure during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game over the weekend.

He agrees with Bucs quarterback Tom Brady who indicated that there should be an effort made to help Brown.

"I think that's true. I think the young man has a problem, and needs to have the help to deal with that issue," says Ackerman.
