Red Wings And Fans Put Hurricanes In Place For Claiming 'Hockey Town' Title

Back in the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, the Carolina Hurricanes are feeling themselves. 

Even more so after a 5-0 win over the Capitals Monday night to pull within 2-1 in their first-round series. 


So much so, in fact, that the Hurricanes have deemed themselves the keepers of Hockey Town.

Hmmm...

'Hockeytown' has been a registered trademark of the Red Wings for over 20 years. 

And the Red Wings aren't exactly on board with sharing that honor.

Nor are their fans. 

While the Hurricanes' tweet has over 3.5 thousand likes and counting, most of the replies are from territorial Red Wings fans.

Their message? Easy now, "little ones."
