What would it take to bring another professional football team to the city of Detroit?

Turns out, maybe just a tweet from rapper Eminem.

Monday night Eminem tweeted to the official AAF Twitter with an idea that he says would get him to watch every game: make fighting between players legal. And then he hinted at bringing a team to Detroit.

The founder of the AAF, Charlie Ebersol, responded to Eminem a few minutes later and sounded receptive to a Detroit franchise.

Detroit is not a bad idea for a future franchise. Let me know if you want in on it.

Usually a tweet directed at the founder of a professional sports league would fall on deaf ears, but not when it comes from one of the best rappers of all time.

Ebersol followed up by posting an Instagram of his exchange with Eminem with the caption, "My life has taken a decidedly surreal turn. #jointhealliance Is @theaaf now headed to #8Mile ?"

The AAF is comprised of eight teams in its first year of operation, with most of them located in non-NFL markets: San Antonio, Orlando, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Birmingham (Ala.), Tempe (Ariz.), San Diego and Atlanta.

Could Detroit be next?
