ATHENS, Ga. (97.1 The Ticket) -- What has Tom Crean gotten himself into?

In his first year as head coach at Georgia, his Bulldogs are off to a 10-16 start and are 1-12 in the SEC.

Last week he took a shot at the players he decided to keep on the roster after taking over for Mark Fox.

"I'm the one who decided to keep these guys," he said after a loss to Mississippi, according to USA Today. "It doesn't mean that they are not great kids, but very few programs when there's a takeover, when you have guys that haven't done it at any point in time really in their career, a lot of those guys, they move on. That's what happens in a job change. And I didn't do that. So I'm not going to complain. We've just got to keep doing everything we can do to fix it and make it better."

Now, he has a whole new problem -- UGA fans potentially cost the team an upset win over Mississippi State Wednesday night.

With 0.5 seconds left in a tie game, Quinndary Weatherspoon went to the free throw line with a chance to ice the game.

After he missed the first shot, a fan threw a stuffed animal on the floor and the Bulldogs were assessed a technical foul. Weatherspoon hit the technical shot and intentionally missed the next so UGA couldn't set things up for a potential lob and tip-in.

Game over, 68-67.

Amid all the madness, Crean grabbed the mic and admonished fans for their actions and begged them to "stay with us."

Tom Crean just grabbed the -- at the Georgia game to tell the student section to knock it off. The timing of this is impeccable after last nights IU-Purdue game. @dandakich

Crean went on to criticize officials for issuing a technical rather than a warning.
