Metro Detroit restaurants offering free meals, discounts on Veteran's Day [SEE THE LIST]

(WWJ) -- Thursday is Veteran’s Day and a number of metro Detroit businesses are offering up free deals and discounts to those who have served the country.

Most businesses require proof of service by presenting a military ID card or dressing in uniform.

Here are some of the meal deals available to veterans across the metro Detroit area:

Applebee’s -- Veterans can get a free meal from a special menu of seven items, as well as a complimentary $5 gift card to redeem within three weeks.

Bonefish Grill -- All military service members, police, firefighters and other first responders receive a 10% with a show of valid ID. Bonefish Grill has locations in Troy and Novi, as well as Grand Rapids.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse -- Complimentary meal from a special 10-item menu and a Dr. Pepper. BJ’s has locations in Sterling Heights, Livonia and Taylor.

Buffalo Wild Wings -- Free order of 10 boneless wings and fries.

Buddy’s Pizza -- 15% off the bill for veterans and active-duty military. Dine-in only.

Bob Evans -- Free meal from a special menu of seven homestyle breakfast items.

Chili’s -- Free meal from a menu of seven items.

Denny’s -- Complimentary “build-your-own Grand Slam” from 5 a.m. to noon. Dine-in only.

Dunkin -- Free donut of choice at participating restaurants.

Einstein Bros. Bagel Co. -- Veterans and active-duty military get a free hot or iced medium coffee.

Hooters -- Free meal from a special menu of five items.

IHOP -- Free Red, White and Blue Pancakes or a Pancake Combo from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when dining in.

Little Caesars -- Free Hot-N-Ready lunch combo -- including four slices of Detroit-style deep dish pizza and a 20-oz. Pepsi product -- from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

National Coney Island -- Two free coneys for veterans and active-duty military.

Olive Garden -- Free entrée from a special menu with breadsticks, and choice of soup or salad at participating locations.

Outback Steakhouse -- Free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and Coke product for vets and active-duty military. Outback also offers first responders and frontline workers a 10% “Heroes Discount” year-round.

Red Lobster -- Free appetizer from a list of eight items or free dessert from a list of three. Dine-in only.

Red Robin -- Free Double Tavern Burger and bottomless steak fries through the end of the week for veterans who registered for the Red Robin Royalty program by Nov. 1.

Wendy's -- Free breakfast combo from 6:30-10:30 a.m.

White Castle -- Free Combo Meal #1 through #6 or free Breakfast Combo Meal.
