Remember when Antonio Brown was going to play for the Albany Empire, the arena football league team he owns last month?

Well, that didn’t happen. He says paperwork wasn’t turned into the league in time.

But now he’s going to play, for super serious this time.

“We’re trying to bring the celebration to the stadium, celebrating the Black community, so I’m defiantly going to play Jun 17,” Brown told WNYT in Albany on Thursday.

Brown says his debut will coincide with a Juneteenth.

And Brown may be bringing some old friends.

Former Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey said on Instagram that Brown should sign him and his brother Mike Pouncey to one game so they can play a professional game together.

Not sure, how serious, if at all the former Steelers center was though.

Brown last played professional football in 2021, as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He notoriously walked off the field in the middle of the game against the New York Jets on January 2, 2022, complaining of an ankle injury but says he was still told to play.

Brown won a Super Bowl the previous year with the Bucs, is a seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro.

There have also been reports that Brown is trying to get quarterback Cam Newton to join him in Albany.

After winning back-to-back league championships, the Empire are currently 1-5 this season.
