Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs reportedly suffers torn ACL in practice

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys' dominant defense was dealt a devastating blow on Thursday as two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs exited practice with a knee injury.

According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, Diggs was diagnosed with a torn ACL, ending his season after just two games.

Diggs' injury reportedly occurred during 1-on-1 drills, with Diggs seen leaving the Cowboys facility on crutches.

Prior to the injury, Diggs had not missed a game since the 2020 season.

Diggs, who is in his fourth year with the Cowboys, was coming off of a stellar performance against the New York Jets on Sunday, in which he held star receiver Garrett Wilson to two catches, while coming away with an interception.

Diggs, who signed a massive five-year extension worth up to $104 million in incentives this summer, is just two years removed from his 11-interception campaign of 2021.

Dallas will likely turn to DaRon Bland at outside corner opposite Stephon Gilmore on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
