Teddy Bridgewater has officially signed with the Lions, while running back Justin Jackson has retired.
The Lions announced the two moves on Thursday.
Bridgewater's deal is worth up to $5 million this season, with $2.5 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. The eight-year vet, who's started 65 NFL games, is the Lions' insurance policy for Jared Goff.
Jackson, 27, was the Lions' primary kick returner last season and was also fighting for a job in the backfield behind David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. He had 42 carries for 170 yards last year and had signed a one-year $1.1 million deal to stay in Detroit.
Now he's done, after a five-year career that began with the Chargers.
The Lions also confirmed the release of offensive lineman Logan Stenberg and announced the signing of running back Benny Snell. Snell, 25, spent the past four seasons with the Steelers, averaging 3.6 yards per carry.
