Jared Goff caught an episode of the new Netflix show ‘Quarterback,’ and “thought it was great,” he said. “Thought it was really well done.”

But he declined to be featured on the show himself.

Goff said Thursday that Netflix approached him about being spotlighted in the docuseries that follows the lives of NFL quarterbacks on and off the field over the course of a season, but the timing wasn’t right.

“Considered it,” he said on 97.1 The Ticket. “Not gonna do it.”

Why not?

“A multitude of reasons,” said Goff. “I really don’t know if it’s as distracting as people may think, the way that they do it, but just wasn’t the right fit for me this year. Maybe one day.”

Season one of 'Quarterback' featured Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Vikings and Marcus Mariota of the Falcons. Goff, who's been featured three times on HBO’s 'Hard Knocks' including last season with the Lions, is one of the faces of one of the NFL’s hottest teams -- and that's what he'd rather focus on entering year three in Detroit.

"That’s part of it," he said, "but I think it just wasn’t right.”

Like he said, maybe one day.

As for the new quarterback on the Lions, Teddy Bridgewater, Goff said it's been great to have the 10-year vet join the room.

"He’s been awesome," said Goff. "He’s a veteran, you can tell, he’s got a lot of snaps under his belt and helpful for me to have a guy like that I can rely on."
