A year after acquiring Oskar Sundqvist at the trade deadline, the Red Wings have traded him away.

Detroit reportedly dealt the veteran winger to the Wild for a 2023 fourth-round pick shortly before Friday's 3 p.m. trade deadline.

Sundqvist, 28, is a pending unrestricted free agent who the Red Wings were unlikely to re-sign this summer. He'll bring his two Stanley Cups and 34 career playoff games to the Wild, who are second in the Central Division entering play Friday.

A bottom-six forward for the Wings who also logged special teams minutes, Sundqvist had seven goals and 21 points in 52 games this season.

He's the fourth player Steve Yzerman has moved off Detroit's roster at the deadline, joining Filip Hronek, Tyler Bertuzzi and Jakub Vrana.
