Growing up in Metro Detroit, we've all gotten a kick out of the Big Beaver exit sign on I-75. Most of us, anyway.
And most non-Michiganders never believe it when I tell them the off-ramp to Big Beaver is Exit 69.
Igor Larionov II knows all about it as a kid who was born and raised in Detroit.
The son of Red Wings legend and three-time Cup winner Igor Larionov took took to Twitter on Monday to show off the sign to his 10,000 followers, saying, "It's no coincidence I grew up seeing this everyday."
Naturally, the 22-year-old wears No. 69 for the Kunlun Red Star of the KHL.
Larionov II, who was born in the middle of his dad's first stint with the Wings, grew up playing for the Detroit Honeybaked Hockey Club. This was his first season in the KHL.
