Mel Tucker has added some swag to the Spartans. In his first year as the head coach of Michigan State, Tucker felt some growing pains but also beat rival Michigan. While the product on the field is a work in progress, the addition of a few helmets delighted Spartan fans.
First there was the "Block S" helmet. Then came the "Gruff Sparty" helmet that fans had wanted for years. It appears the Spartans will have another unique helmet for the 2021 season. Mel Tucker spoke with former players via a Zoom call and one eagle-eyed Twitter user noticed a new helmet behind Tucker.
Michigan State noticed the tweet and decided to release the uniform if the tweet received 4,000 likes.
It didn't take long for the MSU account to get 4,000 likes. Without further ado, here is the new uniform featuring the new helmet:
