NCAA Tournament tip-times: When Michigan and Michigan State play in the Big Dance

There’s nothing quite like that Selection Sunday feeling. You wait and wait all day to see where your team is playing, and then finally find out where they’re headed.

But then you have to wait a little longer to find out when exactly they’ll be playing.

That wait is now over.

11th-seeded Michigan will open the first full slate of games Thursday, tipping off against No. 6-seed Colorado State at 12:15 p.m. on CBS. Ian Eagle and Jim Spanarkle will have the call, with Jamie Erdahl the sideline reporter.

No. 7-seed Michigan State will have a bit of a longer wait on Friday though, tipping off against former Spartan Foster Loyer and No. 10-seed Davidson at approximately 9:40 p.m.

The broadcast team will be CBS's top tournament crew in Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery and Grant Hill, with Tracy Wolfson on the sidelines.

The Wolverines slid in towards the back end of the field of 68, at just 17-14 -- the first team to receive an at-large bid at fewer than four games over .500 since Georgia in 2001. That has happened just three other times since the field expanded to the modern format in 1985.

MSU, meanwhile, is entering its 24th straight tournament under Tom Izzo, who recently passed Bob Knight as the Big Ten's all-time winningest coach.
