Al Horford did something in Game 4 that no NBA player has done in a playoff game since 1966.
While the Celtics shot 61.2% from the floor in Sunday’s win, Horford finished 0-for-2 on the night. He also never made it to the free-throw line, so he didn’t have a single point to his name in the 129-121 finish.
However, Horford did manage to grab 11 rebounds for the Celtics, who finished with 49 as a team. He also had a pair of steals and five assists, but let’s focus on the assist and rebound totals.
Only two other players in NBA history have ever logged 10-plus rebounds and five assists without scoring a point in a playoff game.
Bill Bridges was the first to do so, logging his performance in 1964 as part of a St. Louis Hawks win vs. the San Francisco Warriors. Then Darrall Imhoff logged 11 and five to help the Lakers win Game 6 of the 1966 NBA Finals vs. the Celtics (but Boston wound up winning Game 7).
