Great night out in Los Angeles for the Padres Saturday as they defeated the Dodgers 3-1 over 2 hours and 52 minutes of earthquake-free baseball. Looking to excercise some of the demons from his previous outing in Dodger Stadium, young Padres right hander Chris Paddack delivered a strong performance, striking out 6 while only allowing 3 hits and 1 walk over 5 and 2/3 innings against one of the most dangerous lineups in the league. After admittedly being a little flustered at times in his first career start at Chavez Ravine, Padre fans everywhere had to be excited to see the way Paddack was able to bounce back and shut down the Dodger offense this time around. The bullpen did the rest of the work for the Friars as the trio of Wingenter, Stammen, and (who else?) Yates combined to shut the door on the Dodgers over the remaining 3 and 1/3 innings.

Offensively, the Padres once again relied on the long ball as Hunter Renfroe got San Diego on the board with his solo bomb to dead center in the 7th inning:

The Padres got all the insurance they needed in the very next inning when Manuel Margot put a hanging 2-1 slider from Kenta Maeda just over the left field fence:
