The Patriots coaching change that everybody wants may happen. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says Bill O’Brien is a “strong option” to return to New England next season, citing sources.
O’Brien has spent the last two seasons as Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator at Alabama, but his contract is up, Rapoport writes.
what was willie mcginest thinking?

Earlier this month, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that O’Brien would be interested in returning to the Patriots.
The Patriots’ offense has struggled mightily with Matt Patricia as play-caller, and last week’s 30-24 loss to the Raiders may have been the team’s nadir. Mac Jones struggled through maybe his worst performance in the NFL, completing 13-of-31 passes for just 112 yards.
O’Brien was the Patriots’ offensive coordinator in 2011, when they finished second in yards and third in points scored. With O'Brien on the staff from 2007-2011, the Patriots led the league with 30.7 points per game and were second with 393.1 total yards per game
But of course, that was with Tom Brady under center. If O’Brien comes back, he would probably be coaching a different quarterback.
Right?
