The latest on the veteran big man comes from longtime NBA insider Marc Stein, who reports that the Hawks have granted Collins consent to seek out potential trade partners.

Stein's report comes just days after Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that Collins' price tag on the trade market has dropped from previous years, with the Hawks apparently no longer seeking a draft pick and instead being willing to accept only a player.

Meanwhile, the Jazz, Wizards, Nets and Pacers are among the teams with some degree of interest in Collins, Stein reported.

Collins' departure from Atlanta has seemed destined for several years, with countless reports indicating that the Hawks were seeking to move on, apparently to no avail.

The former Wake Forest star was the 19th overall draft pick in 2017 and appeared bound for stardom after strong performances in his second and third seasons, when he averaged 20.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game in 102 contests.

However, Collins' star has dimmed some since then, with a decline in his numbers, frequent nagging injuries, and a PED suspension.

Collins is under contract through 2024-25 as part of a five-year, $125 million extension he signed in 2021. He also has a player option for 2025-26.

The Collins report comes with the Hawks seemingly in undertaking organization-wide changes. Landry Fields was promoted from general manager to president of basketball operations last months, supplanting predecessor Travis Schlenk, while head coach Nate McMillan is rumored to be on the hot seat over an apparent disconnect with All-Star point guard Trae Young.

Young himself has even surfaced in trade rumors.
