The hotel where the alleged incident involving Michael Irvin took place has been ordered to turn video of the encounter over, a judge ruled Thursday.
Irvin was removed from NFL Network’s Super Bowl coverage after an alleged incident took place at the Renaissance Hotel he was staying at in Arizona. A woman complained about Irvin’s conduct during an interaction they had in the hotel lobby. The woman who filed the complaint is an employee of the hotel, but the specifics of her allegations aren’t fully clear.
According to TMZ, the judge ruled that video of the interaction has to be sent to Irvin by Monday. Additionally, the hotel must also provide the name of Irvin’s accuser, the name of anyone else who filed a complaint against Irvin, and the employees of the NFL who received the complaint.
TMZ said that according to the motion documents, which were filed by Irvin's attorney, “Irvin only met the woman after she had called him over in the hotel lobby to introduce herself ... and 'eyewitnesses described the interaction as 'jovial' and completely harmless.' Irvin's attorney wrote in the motion that the interaction lasted less than a minute, and Michael then went to his room alone and fell asleep.”
Irvin called into 105.3 The Fan after the news came out to tell his side of the situation. He also told the Dallas Morning News that there was no sexual wrongdoing or anything physical, and has sued his accuser and the hotel for defamation.
