Michael Irvin will be part of NFL Network's coverage of the Las Vegas Raiders-Pittsburgh Steelers game Saturday evening, a day after the 50th anniversary of "the Immaculate Reception."

Franco Harris -- who was on the receiving end of the most controversial plays in NFL history -- passed away suddenly at the age of 72 earlier this week. In an appearance on 93.7 The Fan Friday, Irvin offered new details about the tragic passing of his fellow Hall of Famer.

"Of course, we came here to celebrate the 50 years of 'the Immaculate Reception,' but I think you'll hear now more about the man, as opposed to the play. ... His wife will tell you, the thing is, there was so much going on for him that he was telling everybody 'Yes.' He was giving everybody a 'Yeah,' because that's the type of person he is, he wants to help everybody out. He came home one night, said he was exhausted, sat down and when she went to go brush her teeth, and when she came back, he moved from time to eternity."

While Irvin didn't reveal a cause of death for Harris, he says that the four-time Super Bowl Champion hadn't been battling an illness prior to his passing.

"Yeah, he was doing fine. He was doing fine. Everybody was doing fine. That's what was so surprising to see him just go so suddenly."

Harris rushed for 12,120 yards in a career spent largely with the Steelers, making nine Pro Bowl appearances.
