This guy is giving new meaning to rooting for the laundry.

MLB legend Manny Ramirez has learned there are limits to his fame, after he was recently blown off by an oblivious bargoer wearing a Red Sox hat in Australia.

In a video posted by TMZ, Manny sheepishly approaches the supposed Boston fan and his "girlfriend," in an apparent bid to make friends abroad and perhaps stage a tender photo-op.

"Excuse me, nice hat," Ramirez says. "Can I ask you a question? Who's your favorite player?"

Seemingly unaware that he's speaking to a Red Sox franchise icon and the author of 555 MLB homers, the brusk patron seems to suggest Manny ought to take a hike.

"Are you serious?" he responds. "It's my girlfriend. Why?"

"No, no -- it's just a nice hat," Ramirez says before walking away, ending the awkward interaction.

The 48-year-old former Indians and Red Sox superstar has been Down Under recently, after signing with the Sydney Bluesox late in the summer.

He last played in MLB with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2011, after stints with the Dodgers and White Sox following his exit from Boston.
