For the first time in quite a while, there seems to be some optimism about the chances of a 2020 MLB season taking place. That said, Mike Francesa has negotiation fatigue, and has reached the point of believing there will be a 2020 MLB season when he sees it.
“It sounds like they are moving in the right direction,” Francesa said Wednesday. “I’m kind of tired of talking about it, to be honest with you. When they play, call us.”
Though Francesa’s sentiment is shared by many - if not most - baseball fans, RADIO.COM MLB Insider Jon Heyman set the internet ablaze Wednesday afternoon when he suggested that the two sides were “closing in” on a deal for a 2020 season that would include prorated pay and additional teams added to the postseason. This came after MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and Tony Clark, the head of the MLBPA, met face-to-face Tuesday.
You can watch Francesa’s full breakdown above, including his thoughts on the season potentially being only 60 games long.
