It doesn't matter what fan base we're talking about, be it Pacers fans, Nets fans, Suns fans (the Pacers' opponent on Saturday night) or anyone else. Everyone in the NBA community will be rooting for Caris LeVert on Saturday night.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, LeVert is set to take the court for his first time as a Pacer on Saturday, following important surgery and the subsequent recovery.
LeVert has not played since January 12, the day before he was sent out of Brooklyn in the James Harden blockbuster trade. During LeVert's physical that sent him to the Pacers, an MRI revealed a cancerous mass on his kidney. He underwent successful surgery to treat the renal cell carcinoma of his left kidney, as reported by the Pacers on January 26.
LeVert's return couldn't come at a better time, either, as the Pacers have struggled heavily since the departure of Victor Oladipo. Adding in a shot-creator and scoring option of the caliber of LeVert (18.5 points on 43.5/34.9/76.5 shooting) to go along with names like Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner and All-Star Domantas Sabonis should go a long away in reversing their recent pattern of losing. The Pacers have lost five of their last six, all before the All-Star break, and have a tough stretch of games ahead including matchups against the Lakers, Suns, Nuggets, Nets, Heat (twice) and Bucks in consecutive contests.
Perhaps LeVert's return will spur a boost in their record and a shot up our power rankings.
