Reuben Foster of Washington Redskins Gets Domestic Violence Charge Dropped

WASHINGTON (The Fan D.C.) -- A domestic violence charge against Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster has been dropped, TMZ Sports reports.

Foster, 24, was arrested on a first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence charge stemming from a Nov. 24 incident in Tampa, Fla., and was released the following morning by the San Francisco 49ers.

Foster was claimed off waivers by the Redskins a few days later. He was then placed on the NFL's Commissioner's Exempt List shortly thereafter as legal proceedings played out.

According to a court document obtained by TMZ Sports -- which was filed on Jan. 2 -- the Florida State Attorney's Office has dismissed that charge against Foster. Foster was due to appear in court for an arraignment on Thursday, per local TV affiliate WFLA, but the arraignment was canceled as the charges were dropped.

Despite charges being dropped, Foster could still be subject to further discipline from the NFL.

"We are monitoring all developments in the matter which continues to be under review by the league," an NFL spokesperson said.

The Redskins declined to comment on the situation to 106.7 The Fan's Craig Hoffman.
