He arrived with a full-blown Celtics letterman jacket and some dark shades.
The Truth was in the building.
Could the Celtics be at the start of a dynasty?
Many celebrities were on hand Wednesday to watch the Celtics best the Warriors 116-100 in Game 3 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden. With tickets starting at $800, it was an A-list kind of scene.
Bill Walton took the T; Nelly performed at halftime; Robert Kraft shared some postgame words of encouragement. But Paul Pierce stole the show. He commanded attention the instant he walked onto the parquet.
Notably, Pierce stopped for a pregame chat with Draymond Green, who fouled out after scoring just two points in 35 minutes.
Those two things can’t be a coincidence, right?
Pierce was active in his courtside seats, pumping up the crowd and celebrating when Green committed his sixth foul in the fourth quarter. There was only one discernible low point: one of the dudes around Pierce left him hanging.
Fortunately, a good-natured soul who understands the power of dabbing up a Celtics legend came in for the save.
While franchise icons attend Celtics games all of the time, Pierce immersed himself with the fans, which doesn’t always happen. He even stopped for a selfie in the concourse.
At the end of the game, Pierce found some Warriors fans to taunt, like any good Masshole with amazing seats to the NBA Finals.
Hall of Famers are just like us.
