San Diego Padres catcher Austin Nola joined the John Kentera Show on Friday and talked about how camp was going so far. Nola goes on to talk about the pitchers he has caught for already and how the team is shaping up.
Later on, Nola opens up about playing baseball at LSU and tells the story of him beating out DJ LeMahieu for the starting shortstop position that ended up moving LeMahieu to second base, creating a lethal college double play combo.
Coach Kentera also asks Austin Nola about making his MLB debut and what it was like doing it at an older age than most and the mindset he and his wife had near the end of his minor league career before he finally got the call he was waiting for.
