The Padres ended their five game losing streak thanks in large part to a dominant performance from Dylan Cease, who struck out 11 and allowed just 1 hit and 3 walks over 6 scoreless innings. David Peralta had perhaps his best game in brown and gold, going 3-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Luis Arraez, who was hitting .245 over the last 30 days, went 3-4 as well with an RBI-double in the 5th inning. Manny Machado blasted a solo home run to dead center in the 8th inning to give the Padres a 4-0 lead. The Padres will conclude the first half with Randy Vasquez facing off against Chris Sale.
